Lakefield antique show

The 37th annual Lakefield Antique and Vintage Sale and Flower Show hosted by the Lakefield and District Horticultural Society began Friday at the Lakefield-Smith Community Centre in Lakefield.

This year’s theme is Over The Rainbow.

More than 40 antique exhibitors are sharing collections of antique furniture, silverware, tools, memorabilia, glassware and china.

Society members have entered hundreds of flowers and arrangements to show off their skills in growing and arrangements.

Specimen flowers, potted plants, vegetables and decorative products such as tea cup arrangements and roadside collections are judged by a panel of experts.

There is also a photography contest that includes seven categories.

Plants are donated by members and from a few commercial plant growers.

The event continues Saturday from 10 a.m.

to 5 p.m.

Admission is $5 and children under 12 are free.
