  • For two years Josh hosted an interview program on public TV station KQED, cleverly titled The Josh Kornbluth Show.
  • Josh Kornbluth was born in 1959 in New York, USA. He is known for Haiku Tunnel (2001), Searching for Bobby Fischer (1993) and Jack (1996).
  • Josh Kornbluth makes his grand return to Real Art Ways in all his rumpled naturalistic comedic brilliance with his monologue “Citizen Brain.”

The 70-minute show, running Friday through Sunday, is Kornbluth’s latest mingled musings on his own life, scientific principles and American culture.

“Citizen Brain” in particular attaches a study of neurology to recent observations of national politics.

He came to his career as a monologist from several different directions. He was working at the Boston Phoenix newspaper and was encouraged to perform in a sketch at a going-away party for one of the alt-weekly’s writers.

Around the same time, he saw Gray, the exemplary autobiographical storyteller, perform at the Brattle Theatre in Cambridge, Massachusetts and thought “This guy’s awesome!” Kornbluth’s father had recently died and he was working through his emotions about it.

He saw something special in Gray’s uncompromising self-reflective stories and adapted the first-person live medium for his own interwoven thoughts on society, history, academia and personal or cultural upheaval.
